Day 1: My Favorite Song

I’ve finally decided to play along with the 30 songs in 30 days thing that’s been going around for a while now. I know I’m late to this, but the first song is the hardest. How can I actually pick one song to be my favorite? I’ve been a music fan for a long time, and there are lots of great songs that could qualify as my favorite. Then I have to make this first in the list of the 30? That’s a lot of pressure to get this started the right way.

But after weeks of agonizing over this pick, I’ve finally reached a decision.

My Favorite Song:
Bastards of Young – The Replacements

I chose this song for a couple of reasons. First, it’s just a great song. It’s also on one of the best albums ever, “Tim” which was ranked at 136 in the Rolling Stone top 500 of all time. And the song’s video is also one of the best videos ever. I’m not able to embed the actual video here, but you should get over to YouTube and watch it yourself.
