Day 5: A Song That Reminds Me of Someone

These are starting to get too easy now. This song was on one of the very first mix tapes that my wife and I shared way back in 1990. That was back in the day when mix tapes were actually time consuming to make since they usually involved recording songs from tape to tape.

A Song That Reminds Me of Someone:
Pictures of You – The Cure

Now wasn’t that so much better than Friday I’m In Love?

Day 2: My Least Favorite Song

This one is almost as hard as picking my favorite. There are a lot of candidates for this one and it would be easy to pick on some of the obvious horrible songs by Justin Bieber, Rebecca Black, or just about any song you can line dance to. But none of these will do.

My Least Favorite Song:
Friday I’m In Love – The Cure

Now, I’m a big fan of The Cure and that’s one of the reasons that I chose Friday I’m In Love as my least favorite. I mean, look at the video – Robert Smith is wearing a white shirt! Just how does this song fit with anything else that The Cure had done up to the point when this song was released in 1992? This song is just horrible when compared to songs like 10:15 Saturday Night, Charlotte Sometimes, Close to Me, Pictures of You, or The Lovecats. So while some of those other songs I mentioned earlier are worse songs, I’m naming Friday I’m In Love as my least favorite because we deserve better from a band as great as The Cure.

Again, sorry that I couldn’t embed the video. These people that don’t allow embedding of videos from YouTube really need to get over themselves.

Also, you may have noticed that I’m not really following the rules on this 30 day song challenge since this is two posts in one day. Deal with it.
